Barlow fishing Competition

At Barlow, we figure a bad day of fishing is better than a good day of work! And because we all love a great competition....we have continued with our annul fishing challenge!

Prizes are distributed to anglers of all age. All entries must be submitted by Labor Day of each year. Contest officially runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day. All Michigan Fishing Regulations apply. To promote live release of our natural resource, only a witness need be present to verify your catch or a photograph also showing distinguishing backdrops of Barlow Lake. Thanks again to Mike Hoekstra for running this contest!

fish stocking

Fish stocking is an important part of fisheries management programs in Michigan. One-third of all recreational fishing in Michigan depends on stocked fish, and this includes Barlow Lake. Mike Hoekstra, our long time Barlow Lake Association Fishing Expert and Stocking Captain passed away last fall and will be greatly missed. The Stocking Captain works closely with the DNR each year and local fish hatcheries to provide Barlow with the best fishing resources. Our new Fishing Captain is Jordan Huizinga. Please contact Jordan with your fish catch information at 616-915-3672 or jordanh@vanmanen.com.
